Greetings! I'm Catherine Abbott, founder of Silver Queen Kitchen. I am a family-taught cook and baker, learning largely through watching my mother and grandmother cook, bake, and preserve. My roots are in East Tennessee, although I spent a decade in Washington, D.C., which only made my love of Southern Appalachia greater. In addition to cooking and baking, I love spending time with my doodle, Gryff (yes, like Gryffindor), working in my yard (trying to grow a vegetable and herb garden), reading/listening to books, spending time with family, hiking and kayaking, trying out new restaurants, and, well, lots of different things.
